THE quarter-finals of Watchet Skittles League’s Alan Clark Cup drew together two sides from the Globe Inn, Cannington. At the interval Outsiders held a slender 1 pin advantage. However, a strong second half display from Barn Owls saw them run out winners by 43 pins over Outsiders whose Terry Hayes hit 106 with Dean Marchant top of the alley with 111.
Michael Stout hit 109 for QC Guys as they inflicted a 33 pin defeat on Allsorts, Alan Shopland top of the alley with 112. A match winning 116 from Has Beens’ Mark Clausen led them into the semi finals with a 39 pin victory against Phoenix Knights, Connor Jeromson hitting 98, while Railway Steamers were holding their own against Premier Champions Bell All Stars but a second half team score of 308 saw the premier side claim victory by 29 pins.
