POLICE have responded to a collision on the A39 in Washford which injured one person and closed the road in both directions.

The collision happened between the Roadwater turn off and the Washford Inn at around 1.40pm today (Tuesday, January 14).

Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: “We were called at around 1.40pm today (Tuesday January 14) to the A39 Station Road, in Washford, to a report of a single-vehicle collision.

“One person is being treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.

“The road was initially closed to allow for emergency services to respond. One lane has now been reopened but motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.”
