TIMBERSCOMBE and Dunkery Preschools got together to meet the South West Ambulance Service at Timberscombe Preschool on Monday (May 23).
The day helped the children learn about ‘people that help us’, which is part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and to familiarise themselves with an ambulance and their staff.
As part of the experience the children bandaged themselves and members of staff, and they also took turns dressing up as paramedics.
The children had a chance to explore the ambulance inside and out – and some even had a chance to sit in the driver’s seat.
Members of staff and children were laid out on stretchers while pretending to be patients, and the children enjoyed watching the blue lights and listening to the ambulance sirens.
The preschools would like to thank Mark and Catherine Hayden from Minehead Ambulance Station for giving up their time to provide a most enjoyable morning.
