PORLOCK Weir is the salty setting for its second Sea Festival tomorrow (September 9) when the harbour will be all at sea between 12 noon and 4pm.

A wide range of activities will include performances by the Original Sailors’ Hobby Horse, sea shanties by The Barnacle Buoys and the opportunity to create sea monsters with Wild Wellies. There will also be archery and kayaking with Exmoor Adventures.
Mike Leach will be displaying his wood carvings and there will be oyster shucking demonstrations by Porlock Bay Oyster Company, an RNLI stand, Exmoor Search and Rescue, National Coastwatch Institute, Exmoor Natural History Society and the National Trust.
Porlock Weir Gig Club will be in attendance and Porlock Sailing Club will decorate their boats in celebration of the event.
The event is being organised by Porlock Visitor Centre and manager Deborah Stanyon said: “We are delighted to be organising the second Porlock Weir Sea Festival, following the overwhelming success of the festival in 2022.
“We have provided lots of different entertainment to ensure that there is something for all age groups and a day of fun for the whole family. We are very grateful to Somerset Council and the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund for their contribution towards the Sea Festival”.
