In the parish of Minehead there will be a road closure from January 16 to January 27. The affected area is Layby Off Hopcott Road, spanning the entire distance of 50 metres. Works will take place day and night, lasting 12 days in total.

The Dunster to Timberscombe road in the parish of Timberscombe is set to undergo temporary closure next month. Works will take place between February 1 and February 2. Traffic will be prohibited from the junction with Clouds Steep southwards for a total distance of 383 metres.

There will be a temporary closure of Whites Lane in Bicknoller this month. Somerset County Council will prohibit traffic along Whites Lane, from the junction with Halsway Hill northwards for a total distance of 269 metres. The closure will come into effect on January 18 and are expected to be completed by January 23.

The Exford to Wheddon Cross road will be closed on January 18. Between 9 30 am and 3 30 pm the road will be closed as Openreach carry out works to overhead cables. The order spans from the junction with Acland Lane and will extend for a total distance of 1149 metres.

Mill Cross to Woolcotts in the parish of Brompton Regis will undergo temporary closure this month. The closure will run from a point 415 metres west of the junction with Hill Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 368 metres. Works are expected to commence on the 16th of January and continue until January 27. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7 30am and 5pm.

There will be a temporary closure of Wellshead Lane in the parish of Exford this month. In order for Sunbelt rentals to renew poles on behalf of Openreach, all traffic will be prohibited from Wellshead Lane, from the junction with Muddicombe lane westwards for a total distance of 365 metres. Works will be carried out on January 16 between the hours of 9 30am and 3.30pm.

Bridge Street in Williton will be closed for five days starting this month. As Wessex Water repair a hydrant, traffic will be blocked from Bridge street, from the junction with High Street westwards for a distance of 50 metres. Works will be conducted from January 30 and last until February 3.

There will be a temporary closure of Whitefield Road, Whitefield Rocks, Forches Cross to Cordings Ball and Forches Cross to Holcombe Water. Traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Whitefield road, from the junction with Langley Marsh northwards, incorporating Whitefield Rocks, Forches Cross To Cordings Ball and Forches Cross To Holcombe Water, for a total distance of 5300 metres. Works will commence on January 30 and are expected to be completed by March 24. Works will be carried out between the hours of 8 00 am and 6pm.

Temporary closures are set to affect Old Way, Brook Street, Shute Street, Hill Farm Road, Escott Lane and Stogumber to Beech Tree Cross. In the parishes of Stogumber, Sampford Brett and Bicknoller traffic will be prohibited along Old Way - from the junction with Brook Street to the junction with Stogumber to Beech Tree Cross; Brook Street - from the junction with Shute Street to the junction with Sawpits Close; Shute Street - from the junction with Old Way, south eastwards incorporating Hill Farm Road for a distance of 90 metres; Escott Lane - from the junction with Stogumber to Beech Tree Cross to the junction with Vellow Road; and Stogumber to Beech Tree Cross - from the junction with Escott Lane to the junction with Old Way. Closure in effect between January 27 and January 30.

A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at Exmoor House, Dulverton, Somerset, TA22 9HL from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, or on the Exmoor National Park Authority website – search for ‘Changes to the Path Network’.
