FACE painting and fun were the highlights of a larger than life event staged by Home-Start West Somerset. The local branch of the charity, which helps families with at least one child under five, took part in Home-Start UK's national Big Tea Party. Local businesses and individuals donated cakes, books, tea, coffee and raffle prizes for the event at Minehead Methodist Church, which raised a much needed £250 for the charity. Home-Start organiser Ros Owen said: "The morning was enjoyed by young and old alike and the children loved having their faces painted." The charity has trained parent volunteers who support families by offering friendship and practical help in the family home through weekly visits. More information on its work is available on 01643 707304. Pictured, at the back, are Home-Start organisers Ali Sanderson, left, and Ros Owen with Alfie James- Allen.
