A crowd of over 700 enjoyed more attractions than ever before, including crafts and produce stalls, Morris dancing, folk music, sheep-shearing, spinning, handbell ringing, archery, and a highly-popular tug-of-war event organised by Williton Young Farmers which attracted competitors as young as five.

“It really couldn’t have gone better and everyone had a smile on their face on Saturday evening”, said one of the organisers, Lucy Parker.

“Even the weather co-operated - apart from one short shower it was a lovely afternoon.”

Among donations there will be a recommendation for one to St Margaret’s Hospice in memory of local resident Martin Fletcher, who organised vintage motorcycle displays until his death last year.

A highlight of the fete was a display of over 60 bikes, organised in his memory by wife Jackie and close friends.
