MORE than 40 people attended a special memorial service at Minehead Methodist Church on Sunday (November 21).
Holding a funeral and sharing stories is part of the process of grieving, and this was an opportunity to remember those for whom there had been no full funeral during the pandemic.
The names of those lost were read out during worship and also written on hearts, and later hung on the prayer tree: “That was very gentle, helpful service,” said one attendee after the event.
The ‘Remember Me’ bench, bought with donations and dedicated at the service, will be put in place outside the church as a reminder of these difficult times and as a place of peace and rest.
