A TOURISM company is celebrating after
scooping a coveted accolade.
Exmoor Character Cottages (ECC) won silver
in the Resilience and Innovation category at
the South-West Excellence Awards Ceremony
at Sandy Park, Exeter last week.
The glittering black tie ceremony brought
together the finalists, their guests, and sponsors
around the South west to celebrate their
success and, for the first time in two years, in
person.
ECC offers a range of boutique self-catering
holiday cottages across Exmoor.
Lucy Green, owner of ECC, was proud to
be among more than 90 stand-out businesses
and world-class attractions that included the
Minack Theatre in Penzance and Stonehenge
in Wiltshire, who all work hard to attract visitors
to the UK’s top tourist destination.
Lucy said. “We are all delighted to be part of
the South-West Excellence Awards, it is such
an honour for us as a small holiday accommodation
business and to also be flying the flag
for the fantastic region of Exmoor and the
businesses that depend on tourism.
“We all know how important it is to attain
and service a level of excellence that guests are
looking for especially after the two years we
have all experienced. We actively encourage
reviews and feedback about our four cottages,
as ultimately happy guests are testament to
the continuing success of our business, so we
want to encourage them to return.”
All the finalists at the south-west excellence
awards had come out on tops in their respective
categories, with Exmoor Character Cottages
receiving a Gold at the Bristol, Bath, and
Somerset Tourism Awards in February.
