PUPILS at Dunster First School were really kept on their toes on their sports day - when not racing, they were running around as track helpers.

More than 200 parents, relatives and friends of the school attended the sports day on June 27 and were treated to 90 minutes of individual and team events.

Highlights of the afternoon included the cone race for the reception class, a ball and hockey relay for year one and a very closely fought year three sack race.

The Parent Teacher Association provided refreshments and ran a plant and cake stall to raise money for the playground development fund - boosting it by over £120.

At the end of the afternoon, head teacher Peter Hoyland congratulated the children - and parents - on an excellent sports day and thanked staff, governors, PTA members and everyone else who had made it such a success.
