A NEW “trim trail” of play and exercise equipment was officially opened at Exford First School by the school trust chairman Sally Bickersteth.

Head teacher Laura Weaver said that organisations connected to the school had generously donated £4,750 towards the new equipment, which meant the school only had to put a small amount towards the project.

The Exford School Trust gave £1,800, and there were contributions from the Henry Leigh Trust, the Exmoor Trust and the school’s PTA, known as FOES (Friends of Exford School).

She said children on the school council who had helped choose the equipment and design the trail, were the first to try out the new equipment, followed by members of the Little Berries pre-school group.
