DULVERTON and Exmoor audiences will be treated an exciting event that’s sure to capture the hearts of locals and visitors alike.
For those who have ever wanted to take a trip down memory lane and see what Dulverton and Exmoor looked like in years gone by, this is their chance.
On Friday, 25 October, from 7pm until 9.30pm, Dulverton Town Hall will be the place to be for an evening of reminiscence through amateur films.
The event will showcase old home movies that have captured the unique beauty and charm of Dulverton and Exmoor over the years.
The films, made by amateur filmmakers since the 1920s when cine cameras were first invented, offer a rare and fascinating glimpse into the past.
Television programme maker David Parker, who has been using these films in his work for the past 30 years, will present some of the best footage from his collection.
This is a rare opportunity to enjoy scenes of Exmoor and Dulverton as they were decades ago, preserving memories of the landscapes and people that have made this area so special.
The event promises to be a fantastic evening of entertainment, whether people are from the area or visitors who just want to experience the history of one of England’s most beautiful regions.
Tickets cost £8 per person and can be purchased either online or in person at the Dulverton Town Hall Thrift Shop, which is open from 10.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Don’t miss this chance to step back in time and celebrate the timeless charm of Dulverton and Exmoor.
The team at Visit Dulverton is organising this evening as the opening event for the 2024 Dulverton Exmoor Literary Festival. There will be a bar open during the break.
