THE Barnacle Buoys will mark the end of the Somerset and Exmoor Coast Festival with an open-air shanty concert in Porlock.

The “talented and popular” group will perform at Sparkhayes Campsite, which boasts views over the sea, from 5pm until 7pm on Sunday, September 29.

Deborah Stanyon, Porlock Information Centre manager, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the end of the Somerset and Exmoor Coast Festival here in Porlock.

“The concert will set the scene for an amazing event immediately following the concert of a light, sound and sculpture self-guided walk on Porlock Marsh, which has been organised separately by Fuse Performance Somerset Outdoor Arts.“

The venue is expected to provide a great atmosphere for rousing sea shanties, and the whole family can join in with the songs.

Refreshments will be provided by The Top Ship with a licensed bar and Exmoor Wood Fired Pizza’s will be at the event. Caribbean Cottage will deliver takeaways ordered in advance.

Tickets for the concert are available from Porlock Information Centre, costing £10.00 for adults and £3 for children. Tickets are also available online from We Got Tickets.  Ticket price does not include refreshments.
