AN ‘interactive exhibition’ is on in Dunster’s Medieval Gallery.
Curator, Steve Beer, described the art as an “intriguing antidote to the stress of daily life” and encouraged attendees to visit the ‘inspiring’ display.
He said: “The exhibition is entitled ‘The Stairway to Visionary and Spiritual Art’ - it’s an idiosyncratic and exciting display now open on the first floor of the Medieval Gallery in Dunster.
“It is the brainchild of local artist Jennifer Price and myself - showcasing artwork which is both surreal and complex, while joyful and fun.
“The exhibit intends to create a tranquil space, within which visitors can feel inspired and uplifted.
“It features the unique and uplifting artwork of Ms Price as well as original artworks from painters with international reputations such as Bridgid Marlin and Oleg A. Korolev.
“To reinforce the exhibit’s message of peace, altars and protective symbols from different traditions and cultures have been placed around and within the space from Christian to Pagan to ancient Chinese, many of them original pieces.
“Attendees are welcome to dedicate messages of hope or prayers in a box dedicated for this purpose, and in consultation with the curators, even to loan artefacts in the spirit of the display if they so wish.”
