PEOPLE are invited to take part in a course in the Oare Valley learning how to forage, prepare, and cook game and other wild foods, before tucking into a feast.

Whether those interested are hunters, foragers, or just love cooking, this course will teach them how to make the most of wild game. It will provide them an opportunity to learn hands-on skills to forage, butcher, and cook wild foods, before enjoying their own meal.

Those taking part will be guided by an expert who will demonstrate how to break down a whole animal into its key cuts, identify different parts, while using the correct tools.

By the end of the day, participants will have gained the skills and confidence to prepare wild game at home, including smoking techniques and curing methods. This course is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their cooking skills and explore the world of wild food.

It is advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothing, as the workshop will take place outside.

The event is being led by the Root Project and Exmoor Game School and will take place on Saturday, October 19 between 1.30pm to 8pm at Oare House, Lynton.
