THE Minehead Bay Festival, which last year attracted over 3,000 visitors, is set to return on Saturday, August 31, with a dynamic mix of music, art, wellness, and cultural activities for all ages.

This year's musical line-up for the free event includes Wob, IDK, Follow the Dolphin, Yet, Drop in the Ocean, Los Dedos, and Boxset, who will perform for festival goers on a solar-powered stage next to the beach.

Street vendors will provide a wide choice of food and drink at venues along the shore.

Licenced bars, sponsored by South West cider maker Sandford Orchards, will offer a range of Sandford Orchard ciders.

The area will be alive with activity from story-telling and street theatre to circus walkabouts.

Local musicians will be invited to perform at the Busk Station, and street artists Blam, Mark Doyle, and Charlie McFarley will be painting live throughout the day, while artist Chris Oakey will be working with the public to create a giant sculpture.

For visitors willing to try something new, workshops will include yoga, African drumming, a skate school, meditation, the Wild Wellies forest school, gong baths, massage, arts and crafts, mindfulness, and much more.

“We have put together an amazing programme of activities for the public to enjoy and take part in”, says event manager Zara Aitken.

“From thrilling performances by the Higher Beings Circus, with tightrope walkers, acrobats and aerialists, plus mountain bike stunts and showcases by world renowned trail bike rider Andrei Burton, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

“This will be our third festival and something you really won't want to miss,” Zara Aitken added.

The festival is run by local charity Minehead and Coast Development Trust, with funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund, People’s Postcode Lottery, Hinkley Point Small Grants Programme, and Minehead Town Council.
