THERE’S just a month until St Margaret’s Colour Run returns to Taunton Racecourse to celebrate the charity’s 45th anniversary.

This year, St Margaret’s Hospice is aiming to raise £45,000 with the help of participants dashing around a 4km course filled with a rainbow of powdered paint and colourful foam on Saturday, May 17.

The charity’s Bubble Toddle will also be returning for its second year, inviting children aged from 18 months to five to enjoy some child-friendly fun.

A representative from St Margaret’s Hospice said: “Taking part in the Colour Run is about more than just having fun—it’s about supporting St Margaret’s Hospice and helping us continue to provide exceptional care to those who need it most; people like Rob, a former Civil Nuclear Constabulary policeman and passionate runner.

“After Rob’s devastating diagnosis with an incurable brain tumour, him and his partner, Alison, were supported every step of the way by St Margaret’s Hospice. This care helped them through the most difficult part of their lives and ensured they had time together to be a couple.”

Now, Alison is calling on others to take part in the St Margaret’s Hospice Colour Run and raise vital funds for the hospice.

She said: “I’m not a runner, but Rob encouraged me to take part in a 10km which we did together. Now, I want to raise money for St Margaret’s. It keeps his memory alive.”

The £45,000 the hospice team hopes to raise through your tickets and fundraising could pay for 45 people to receive specialist care on our In-Patient Unit for a day.

Tickets for the Colour Run are £20 for adults and £15 for children, with £5 entry to the Bubble Toddle.
