PORLOCK Community Library will host the launch of the first collection of poems and photos produced by local poets.
Established roughly seven years ago, the Porlock Library Poets group consists of mainly local people interested in reading and writing all kinds of poetry and has now produced its first collection of work ‘Through the Library Window’.
Copies of the book will be on sale at the launch on Novemebr 21, as a unique, amusing and ideal souvenir of Porlock, or even a Christmas stocking filler.
Having recently celebrated its 10th successful year, Porlock Community Library is one of fifteen Community Library Partnerships created by the Somerset Library Service.
It is run by Porlock Parish Council and manned by a team of dedicated volunteers supported by a part time member of staff.
As such it has been able to maintain an extremely valuable local amenity for the benefit of young and old villagers alike.
Porlock Community Library will be hosting the launch of ‘Through the Library Window’ on Thursday, November 21, from 10am until midday, with light refreshments available.
All proceeds will go towards the running of The Porlock Community Library.
Porlock Community Library is situated in the Old School Centre, High Street.
