THE tense and stirring story of a ‘British Schindler’ will be screened at Watchet Community Cinema next Friday, March 8.
‘One Life’, starring Anthony Hopkins, is the true story of Sir Nicholas 'Nicky' Winton, who rescued hundreds of predominantly Jewish children who had fled from the Nazis to Prague just before World War Two.
Fifty years later Sir Nicholas is still haunted by the fate of the children he wasn't able to bring safely to England, always blaming himself for not doing more.
The film also stars Lena Olin, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jonathan Pryce.
‘One Life’ will be screened at Knights Templar School at 7 pm (doors open for refreshments at 6.30). Tickets at £4 are available on the door.
