Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze in a holiday park at Watchet on Wednesday night.

Four fire crews were reported to have been sent to the scene at Hellwell Bay Holidays close to the coast at around 8.30pm.

Images posted on social media showed a water jet being used to tackle the flames at a building which was well alight.

There were reports of an explosion risk from gas cylinders at the site.

A spokesperson for the fire service reported that a caravan and two sheds had caught fire.

The was no initial report of the cause or any casualties.

One witness said: "Firefighters told us to move as there was gas cylinders involved and a risk of an explosion."

It appeared that the wind was blowing the flames out to sea and away from homes on the edge of Watchet.
