TWO men were taken off a five-metre fishing boat after it lost all power in the Bristol Channel on Monday afternoon.
The pair phoned the Coastguard for help after the vessel’s electrics failed as they were fishing two miles west of Watchet.
Minehead’s volunteer RNLI crew launched the station’s Atlantic 85 and quickly located the vessel but by then the tide had fallen too far for it to be towed into Watchet’s outer harbour.
Instead the craft was taken to a safe anchorage at Warren Bay and the men were brought ashore at Minehead. Arrangements were made to recover the craft on Tuesday morning’s tide.
