FOLLOWING a surprise visit by the Environmental Health, Ingrams Meadow extra care scheme in Watchet has maintained its five-star status for the seventh year in a row.

The kitchen at the Magna scheme provides up to 60 meals a day, 365 days a year, to vulnerable and elderly people within a ten-mile radius of Watchet and at the two extra care schemes.

The ‘meals on wheels’ service is delivered by volunteers and is open to non Magna residents.

Sally Pluck, sheltered housing manager, said: “Meals on wheels provides a valuable service to the rural community where we are based, offering daily meals for elderly and vulnerable people.

“We’re very proud to receive a five star food hygiene rating seven years in a row! This is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, especially the kitchen staff who do such a fantastic job.”

Information about the meals on wheels service is available from Magna’s community services team on 0800 9996130.
