A number of live performance have been lined up for this year’s 10 Parishes Festival which runs from next Saturday until September 19, with several events being spread over both weekends at St Andrew’s Church in Wiveliscombe.
On the opening night, folk singer Fay Hield will be performing songs from her latest album ‘Wrackline’ accompanied by fiddle player Sam Sweeney and Rob Harbron on concertina.
Festival Evensong will be performed by Ecclesia on Sunday, September 12.
The festival ends on Sunday, September 19, with a unique performance – Hildegard Transfigured: A medieval trance for the 21st Century – by Voice, a female a cappella trio with a repertoire spanning both ages and continents.
The one-hour show of music, light and visuals will explore the world of medieval Abbess St Hildegard of Bingen and how her legacy continues to inspire.
