A FORMER Yeovil teacher appeared at Exeter Crown Court on child pornography charges last week.
Daniel Gregory, aged 26, of Withy Close, Tiverton, faces 10 charges of inciting an employee of internet firm, Landslide Produc-tions, to distribute or show indecent images of children between October 1998 and July 1999.
At the time of his arrest in November last year, Gregory was teaching science at Buckler's Mead School.
He was suspended following his arrest and subsequently resigned.
The arrest was the result of Operation Ore - which has seen 1,300 people arrested on suspicion of accessing or downloading indecent images of children from US-based websites.
British police launched the operation last year and traced suspects with credit card details connected to pornographic websites.
Landslide is an American internet company offering subscribers access to websites featuring child pornography.
Somerset County Council has confirmed that Gregory had taught science at Buckler's Mead School for 10 weeks when arrested and charged.
The allegations have no connection to the school, and the alleged offences took place before he became an employee of the school.
His case was adjourned for a plea and directions hearing in 28 days. Gregory was granted bail.
