Foxes Hotel in Minehead is holding a coffee morning to support a local family with their fundraising for Croft House care home on Friday 8th July from 11am to 2pm.
All funds raised by the Good Wild coffee morning will go towards activities and new equipment to engage residents with dementia and increase their opportunities during their free time.
Foxes is the UK’s only fully operating training hotel for young people with learning disabilities.
The students chose this cause to benefit a former Foxes’ employee - who had a number of roles between 2003 and 2021 - and who is now a resident of Croft House. During his almost 18-year career at Foxes his positivity, laid-back attitude and incredible sense of humour positively impacted hundreds of young people and supported them into semi-independent living and secure meaningful employment.
The event will also showcase the talent of students at Foxes. Students have been involved in all aspects of planning the event. They will have planned the menu and baked the cakes ready to be served to the public.
Students also had a competition across the college to plan and prepare a ‘Go Wild’ mocktail. The top three will be served on the day from the Flying Fox Van. The games will be led by the hotel’s students and staff team.
It’s hoped the coffee morning will raise money and a smile for a very special cause.
