A BOY of seven who wants to one day be a vet is about to set off on a four-mile walk to help the RSPCA.
Leo Mahony has so far raised £103, and will be setting off tomorrow (Saturday) from his home in Williton with his mother Rebecca Nicholas, to do the sponsored walk.
He came up with the idea after watching adverts for the charity on television and discussing with his mother how he could help the animals.
Family and friends have donated to the cause, and Leo has been invited on a tour of the RSPCA’s animal rescue centre West Hatch the weekend after his walk.
“They were so impressed with what he is doing, and as long as the weather is not horrendous, we’ll be doing the walk rain or shine,” said Rebecca.
“Leo loves animals, even when he was three he would want to try and rescue flies. He’s a real creature lover and is a big fan of The Supervet on TV.”
She has set up a Just Giving page for him, as Leo is too young to have it in his own name. For more information, visit Just Giving and search for Rebecca Nicholas.
