The one-acre garden at Elworthy Cottage is open again as part of the National Gardens Scheme Snowdrop Festival on Tuesday 14th and Thursday 23rd February from 11am to 4.30pm. Admission £4.50, children free.
In the garden are over 350 named varieties of snowdrops, most of which are clearly labelled, as well as areas where the common snowdrop is naturalised. Each day that goes by the colour and interest increases among the snowdrops as more hellebores and Cyclamen coum come into flower.
The owners hope to have teas in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West. Depending on the weather, the garden could be wet underfoot therefore it is advisable to wear stout shoes or boots.
Elworthy Cottage is situated in Elworthy Village on the B3188 between Watchet and Wiveliscombe. Phone for details 01984 656427 or see www.elworthy-cottage.co.uk.
