A care home in Minehead has been told it needs to do better after inspectors carried out a report into the service this month.
The Care Quality Commission, the government regulator which oversees social care, has said the Eastleigh Care Home on Periton Road, Minehead, "requires improvement."
The report found that: "Due to the large variety of needs and ages of people at the home some people felt their social needs were not always met. The provider told us they had employed an additional worker to help support people with meaningful occupation."
It added: "The dining experience and environment for people living with dementia would benefit from improvement to promote dignity and independence."
However the home came in for praise in other areas with inspectors saying: "People felt safe at the home and with the staff who supported them. Throughout the inspection we saw pleasant and kind interactions between people and staff."
And that: "People received kind and compassionate care from a friendly staff team."
The CQC report said that the home's effectiveness in delivering good outcomes for patients required improvement, as did the management. However it graded the home 'good' for safety, responsiveness and for being caring.
Eastleigh Care Home was approached for comment but did not respond in time for publication.
