EMERGENCY services were called to rescue a person who became trapped in their vehicle following a two-vehicle crash on the A358.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene near Bishop’s Lydeard at around 1.30pm on Tuesday (June 4).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said in a log online: “Fire control received a call from police reporting a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
“Control immediately mobilised both fire engines from Taunton alongside a supporting officer.
“Once in attendance crews confirmed a the collision with one person free and clear and another still within a vehicle.
“Crews got to work using E-draulic cutting equipment and stabilisation gear to gain access to the casualty.
“Once the casualty was released and in the hands of ambulance personnel, crews handed duty of care over to police.”
Eyewitnesses said a closure was in place for several hours along the route, which runs from East Devon to Williton in West Somerset.
