POLICE, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene of a crash after a woman became trapped in a vehicle on the A358.
Police and paramedics were first on scene of the incident, with one of two people freeing themselves from the car, on the A358 Williton Road near Combe Florey, at around 10pm on Friday, November 22.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on its incident log: “Two fire appliances and an officer from Taunton were mobilised to Williton Road, Combe Florey, Bishops Lydeard, following a request from ambulance for our attendance.
“We responded to a one vehicle collision where it was believed the occupants of the vehicle were trapped.
“Upon our arrival it was confirmed that both police and Ambulance were on scene and after liaising with them it was confirmed that, out of the two occupants in the vehicle, one female casualty was trapped.
“Crews set to work stabilising the vehicle before working alongside paramedics to extricate her, using hydraulic cutting equipment. Once released both casualties were left in the care of Ambulance crews whilst we made the vehicle and scene safe.
“The incident was brought under control at 11.36pm and the incident left in the hands of the police.”
