AROUND 1,500 visitors took to the water and surroundings at Wimbleball Lake last weekend, trying out everything from kayaking and fishing to archery and paddle boarding.
It was all part of a fun open day organised by the South West Lakes Trust to let the public know about the host of activities regularly going on at Wimbleball Lake.
Visitors had a go at taster sessions in bushcraft, orienteering, archery and paddle-boarding, while others hired cycles, joined a drum workshop or enjoyed high ropes and roller zorbs - walking on water inside a giant ball.
There was also a variety of stalls, a cafe, bar and hog roast, giant games and more.
As well as activities organised by the South West Lakes Trust at Wimbleball, there were taster sessions from clubs which use the lake and area, including a pony and birds from Exmoor Pony Society and North Devon Hawk Walks, and rowing clubs.
