A picture of two people canoeing on Wimbleball Lake was the overall winner in this year’s annual Love Your Lakes photography competition.
Run by South West Lakes Trust and South West Water, it ran from May to September and received more than 180 entries.
The competition, now in its seventh year, encourages people of all ages to make the most of the photo opportunities at their lakes across Devon, Cornwall, West Somerset and Dorset.
First prize across all categories was awarded to Julia Amies-Green for ‘Early Morning Exploring’.
There are four categories, which represent four of the five campaign themes which underpin the work of South West Lakes Trust - Active Outdoors, Discovering Local Culture, Love your Lakes and Play and Explore.
As well as Julia’s win, there were other local successes – Barrie Smith took third place in the Discovering Local Culture category with Calm before the Storm and Vicki Chappell was third in the Play and Explore category with. Both pictures were taken at Wimbleball Lake.
