Later in the day the local fire brigade came along to join in with the activities.
In addition to the entertainment on offer during the first part of the day there were two tag rugby tournaments for the juniors, one for those aged between seven and 10 years old and another for those aged eleven and over.
In the afternoon there was a tag rugby tournament for mixed teams including adults, ladies and girls and juniors, all of which were played in the true spirit of rugby and thoroughly enjoyed by those who were involved.
The £872 raised on the day will be split equally between MBRFC and The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital where the monies will go towards comfy chairs for those receiving chemotherapy.
Looking ahead next Saturday (August 31) MBRFC will be holding another event to which everyone is invited when they stage a Senior Men’s and Colts - Possibles v Probables match.
The club and bar will be open at 1pm with music on the terrace in addition to which there will be a running barbecue serving food all afternoon.
