ST MARGARET’S Hospice Care has postponed its New Years Day Dip due to a weather warning for wind being issued by the Met Office.

The charity’s annual new year’s gathering was set to take place at Minehead beach for its fourth iteration.

A representative of St Margaret’s Hospice Care said: “It is with sadness that we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s New Years Day Dip at Minehead Beach. We have been closely monitoring the weather warnings and the forecast has not improved. The safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and the public is our priority.

“The good news is that we plan to reschedule the event in early March to coincide with our 45th birthday. Further details will be released soon.”

“As always, we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our Somerset community and look forward to welcoming participants to a revised dip date.”
