This Pancake Day residents of Furzeland Road in Porlock joined together for the inaugural Furzeland Road Pancake Day race.

The Covid lockdowns were said to have functioned as a catalyst for uniting the community of Furzeland Road, who now come together on a regular basis to celebrate events throughout the year.

The regular events on Furzeland Road now include cream teas, a carol singing evening and street parties. The Pancake Day race is the latest edition to the road's busy social calendar.

The race took the form of a relay, and included obstacles that contenders had to overcome while tossing their pancakes. The race was followed by a celebratory pancake and coffee.

A spokesperson for the residents of Furzeland Road said : "This must be one of the best places to live, where neighbours can always be relied on to help each other when needed & are always ready join together to have fun."
