A film about one woman’s paddle board journey from Lands End to John O’Groats is being screened in Minehead on Tuesday (March 10).

Plastic Free Minehead in conjunction with Plastic Free Exmoor and Surfers Against Sewage will be showing Vitamin Sea at the Beach Hotel.

Cal Major’s 2018 world record expedition took in 1,000 miles of Britain’s coastline, including West Somerset.

Her film focuses on community action around plastic pollution, the need to reconnect to nature in order to drive a desire to protect it, and the importance of time in nature for mental health.

Cal will be cycling from Cornwall to present her documentary, and there will be a chance to talk to her afterwards and also find out about how to get involved with the local plastic-free campaigns - Plastic Free Minehead, Plastic Free Exmoor and the newly-formed Plastic Free Watchet.

There will also be a presentation of Plastic Free Business Awards to local firms.

The screening at the Beach Hotel on Tuesday runs from 7pm to 9pm.
