A?RECORD?crowd of more than 1,000 people, some from as far away as Australia and the USA, flocked to Porlock Country Fair held on the Recreation Ground on Sunday.
The crowd was entertained by a large range of games and amusements, including some novel pantomime horse races, and found plenty of bargains on the stalls.
Music was provided by the Dark Town Strutters and the rural flavour of the afternoon was provided by Victor and Michelle with their dogs and ducks, who gave demonstrations of their herding skills.
The day was a great success with the amount raised comfortably exceeding last year’s total.
The money will be used to continue the programme of maintaining and improving the facilities, including the children’s play area, pavilion and multi-use games area.
Sponsorship was given by a number of local businesses and the organisers wish to thank them for their generosity.
