AN Exmoor woman put on her running shoes to boost the funds of an organisation that went to her aid following an accident.
Deborah Edwards, from Morebath, and her friend Laura Goodfellow, who lives just outside Dulverton, completed the Bristol Half Marathon last weekend.
And for Deborah, deciding that the Devon Air Ambulance should benefit from her efforts was an easy choice.
Two years ago while running along a footpath by the River Barle, between Brushford and Dulverton, Deborah fell and dislocated her shoulder.
With difficult road access, it was the Devon Air Ambulance that was despatched to rescue her.
The journey to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford took ten minutes by air, as opposed to the one and a half hours it would have taken by road.
Deborah's husband Colin said: "Because of the extreme pain she was in, she has never forgotten how grateful she was and through this half marathon saw a way of repaying them."
Deborah, who runs a design and photography business, raised £400 for the cause, mostly from local people but with two donations from as far away as Los Angeles in America.
