Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am December 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.
And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 to 25 lane closures for road markings.
• M5, from 9pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 to 25 exit slip road to Taunton Dean services closed for road markings.
• M5, from 9pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 entry slip road closure for road markings, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 27.
• M5, from 9pm July 27 to 6am July 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 exit and entry slip road closures for road markings, exit slip diversion via M5 northbound to junction 25 and return, entry slip diversion via M5 southbound to junction 27.
• M5, from 8pm August 1 to 6am August 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 to 24 carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via A38.
• M5, from 9pm August 3 to 5am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 - lane closure for electrical works.
• M5, from 8pm August 6 to 6am August 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 27 to 26, lane closure for barrier works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
