Conductor Richard Dickins is bringing 15 members of the Festival Orchestra to the Regal Theatre, Minehead, on Saturday (September 11).
In normal times, the 60-piece orchestra, conducted by Richard, performs at the annual Minehead Music Festival, which began 58 years ago.
But that was not possible this time. Instead, the smaller group will play Mozart’s Serenade in B flat – Gran Partita. It is a work of symphonic structure but for just 13 players. The slow movement will be familiar for the way it was included in the film Amadeus.
The musicians are coming from all over the country and will hope to be part of the full orchestra next year at the end of July.
The concert is at 7.30pm and is the first opportunity to hear live music at the Regal since the current lockdowns.
Tickets are available at the Regal box office on 01643 706430 and the Regal Theatre website.
