TEN firefighting crews were sent to Hinkley Point C nuclear power station yesterday after a report of a blaze on Europe’s largest construction site.
A Devon and Somerset fire service spokesman described the callout as a “minor incident - a small fire in a temporary building away from the main construction area. It was extinguished in about 30 minutes and there were no reported injuries.”
EDF Energy said construction work had not been affected and the cause of the fire was being investigated.
