TWO men are in custody after reports an occupant of a car ‘fired shots’ at another vehicle on the A39 near Minehead.

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed the arrests today (Friday, October 4) following the incident on the Dunster Straight.

Police said in a statement: “Officers were called just after 6pm on Thursday, October 3, to reports that the occupant of a car had fired shots at another vehicle.

“No one was injured in the incident. Two adults - one late teens, the other in his 20s - were arrested from an address in Summerlands Road, Minehead, just before 8pm on Thursday on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

“Officers, including specialist firearms units, seized an air pistol and pellets as well as a car.”
