MINEHEAD U3A is holding an open morning tomorrow (Wednesda (September 27) for anyone interested in finding out about the local group of a national – and international – organisation for retired and semi-retired people.
Although U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, they come together not for qualifications but for the joy of discovery and friendship.
Members enjoying subjects as diverse as patchwork and politics, science and Scrabble, jazz, German and geology.
The open morning is from 10.15am to noon inThe Avenue Methodist Church Hall (pictured). There will be displays, a chance to talk to U3A members and hear what the different groups get up to.
Tea and coffee will be served from 10.15am to 10.45am, after which some of the groups will talk about their interests and activities.
