ACTION-GIRL Alisha Helm, a 12-year-old student at Danesfield Middle School, was chosen as this year’s Watchet Carnival Queen at the town’s Royal British Legion club on Saturday (June 30).

Leading the parade with her attendants on Sunday, July 29, Alisha enjoys boxer-size sessions at Watchet’s Tavern Fight Academy, as well as judo, singing, dancing and gardening.

She won this year’s Carnival Queen crown after taking part in an interview in front of the audience and joining the judges for an informal chat.

Honey Filer was chosen as Alisha’s attendant, with Alfie Worth and Joseph Puttick as princes and Olivia Worley and Ellie-May Puttick as princesses.

Event organiser Julie Prescott said: “All the contestants were fantastic and it was a very close result.”
