ASHBRITTLE 2nd XI beat Brompton Ralph by six wickets at home to clinch the fourth division title in the West Somerset Cricket League.

They have finished 24 points clear of runners-up Hemyock who had completed their fixtures before the weekend’s round of matches.

Batting first against Ashbrittle, Brompton were bowled out for 98 in 22.2 overs with only opener Ben Moody (42) managing double figures. Michael Hill led the bowling attack with 4-18, while Tom Burns-Cox took 3-17 and Boris Priscott 3-28.

After losing two wickets in scoring only six runs, Ashbrittle reached their target in just over 23 overs with Peter Woodbury 34 not out and Carl Westcott scoring 39.

Roadwater, already assured of third spot, won by 130 runs at home to Over Stowey. Roadwater were all out for 233 in 37 overs with Sean Beaver being their trop scorer with 56. Mark Bishop scored 36, Andrew Whitley 27 and. Luke Gould 26. Oli Washer took 3-52 and James Fraser 27.

Stowey struggled with the bat, being all out for 103 in 24.5 overs. Tyler Coleman hit 62 while Simon Aspey took 4-22 and Luke Gould 2-41.

Stoke St Mary won by 24 runs at home to East Huntspill. Stoke scored 183-7 while Huntsill made 159.
