CHAMPIONS Bell All Stars’ Barrie Jones hit another match-winning score of 118 in the Watchet and District Men’s Skittles League as they ran out winners by 65 pins in their home Premier League match with Phoenix Knights whose Adam Bishop hit 96.
The battle for second spot remains tight as Mike Langdon hit 122 for Allsorts as they overcame stable mates Bottoms Up by 46 pins, Martin Larcombe scoring 114 and Q C Guys Ian Parbery hit 107 in their 32-pin victory over Combwich Otters for whom Lee Jones scored 106.
A creditable 105 from Castaways’ Nick Lane led them to a narrow 8-pin home win over Jack who had Simon Virgin hitting 102 and Tyrone Ash with 113 helped Three Ferrets to a 20-pin home success against Hungerford Harriers, Chris James hitting 107 for the visitors.

In Division A both top two sides slipped to narrow defeats with Has Beens’ Steve Allen hitting 102 in their 11-pin home victory against leaders White Horse Stallions whose Eli Hayes hit a top of the alley 106 whilst Dark Horses’ Phil Trunk’s score of 100 keeps their chances of avoiding relegation alive as they overcame second placed Rebels by 2 pins, whose Tom McNoughton also hit 100.
An important knock of 101 from Outsiders’ Martin Nurton guided them to a 46-pin home win over Railway Steamers who had Shane Yaw hitting 101 which keeps them out of the relegation places.
At Williton Club in a low scoring match that swung both ways until the last couple of hands the Club side secured a 9-pin win, Club’s Roger Mitchael with 97 and Rams Leigh Davis top of the alley with 98.

Barn Owls have won the division B title in their first season in the league after Dean Marchant scored an impressive 116 in their 27-pin away home win over second placed Dungbeetles whose Gary Kendall hit 113.
Wyndham Pinheads’ Andy Pegg scored 93 in their 21-pin away victory against Quantock Stags whose John Cartwright hit 88 to see them move up to fourth place.
A score of 105 from Footy Fockers’ Andy Porter, Tom Dickinson and Andrew Duffield led them to a narrow 9-pin success over Dizzy’s Boys.
Mark Mossman topping the alley with 115 and James Keogh with 99 brought Badgers the points with a 35-pin away victory over Legion Specials who had Dave Perkins hitting 91.
