IN the Somerset triples, Williton bowls club’s Andy, Rich and Phil won by three, and Ian, Derek and Callum won by four to see both progress to the next round.
On Thursday, Callum Harrod hosted the top ranked Somerset player James Amery in the national singles. In a tight fought game Callum managed to sucure a memorable victory 21-16.
Saturday with no league action, the club’s attention turned to the Somerset teams with Elaine Amery playing in the Johns Trophy for the Somerset women, and Callum Harrod making his Middleton cup debut for the Somerset men.
Monday saw Williton women unfortunately lose on both rinks in the Evelyn Yandel but the men won 3/4 rinks and overall in the Jack Stevens.
Tuesday. 18th. saw both williton triples back in action - and again both teams winning! Phil's team won 21-13 and Callum's team won 22-7. This sets up a tie between both Williton teams for a place in the quarter-finals of the county triples.
