DEFENDING Watchet Skittles League champions Bell All Stars got off to a winning start as Barrie Jones and Martyn Ketchen hit 109 in their 39 pin home victory over newly promoted White Horse Stallions, Ali Benham with 111 top of the alley for the visitors.

Last season’s runners up Allsorts had Graham Rogers scoring 114 as they defeated Phoenix Knights by 36 pins, captain Chris Pople leading their scoring with 110.

There were home wins for last season’s Division A champions Rebels who had Brad Lock scoring 107 in their 44 pin home win over Q C Guys, Archie Walsh 97, and Simon Norman hit 111 for Three Ferrets as they defeated Castaways by 8 pins, Steven Duck hitting 102 for the visitors. Jack had Jack Bell with 107 and Bottoms Up Nathan Glynn 117 played out a close match with Jack winning by two pins.

Last season’s Division B champions Barn Owls, Scott Nurton 111, pulled off a 55 pin win over stable mates Outsiders, Terry Hayes 110, while Combwich Otters got off to a winning start with a 50 pin away success over Hungerford Harriers along with Has Beens who ran out 12 pin winners over Dungbeetles. Shane Yaw hit a top of the alley 117 for Railway Steamers in their 32 pin win over Williton Club for whom Skipper Roger Willis hit a notable 101.

In their return to the League Haddon Hillbillies picked up a useful 2 points in their home game against Rams C Rawl 103 and Leighroy Davis 107 top scoring while Richard Thrush with 103 led Wyndham Pinheads to a 18 pin win against Legion Specials who had Simon Kidner and Dan Rogers hitting 96.
