ASHBRITTLE maintained their 57-point lead over champions Kilve after both sides collected a maximum 35 points in their latest matches in Division One of the West Somerset Cricket League

Ashbrittle chalked up a nine-wicket victory at home to Churchinford who were bowled out for 101, never looking like winning after losing their first three wickets for only nine runs. Gavin Dawes took 4-29, Callum White 3-19 and Steve Grant 2-28.

Knocking off the runs was never a problem for the leaders with Robert Hill steering them to victory with an unbeaten 53. Luke Williams scored 24 not out and Chris Hill 19.

Kilve were 72-run winners at home to Bagborough after scoring 237-7 with B Gannon 93 not out and J Taylor scoring 45. Bagborough scored 163 all out with B Jones top scoring with 53 while Taylor took 4-44 and J Darrell 4-29.

Brompton Ralph won by 104 runs at home to East Huntspill. Brompton hit 250-7 with B Poole knocking 53, W Ruell 44 and D Cook 36 not out.

P Chisholm (67) and A Guntripp (16) were the only Huntspill batters to make double figures against the bowling of G Whitaker (5-9), W Barrington (2-25) and Z Whitaker (2-38).

Over Stowey gained a 65-run away victory over Morebath who were all out for 153 with Joe Weeks knocking 53 and Stephen Miller, Sam Thomas and Kieran Barrow all taking three wickets.

Meanwhile, Watchet have opened up a 29-point lead at the top of Division Two after winning by eight wickets at home to Lydeard St Lawrence who scored 133-5 in their 40 overs. Josh Alford top scored for Lydeard with 41 while Greg Sandy was 29 not out. Matt Lovell and Dom Bowden both took two wickets for Watchet.

James Weetch (48) and Alistair Harrison (53 not out) top scored for Watchet, while Mark Hannaford took the only two wickets to fall.

Winsford remain second but crashed to a nine-wicket home loss to third placed Roadwater. Winsford were shot out for 85 in 32-2 overs with J Bingham tops with 37, while O Cole took 3-21, J Murch 2-10 , M Bolland 2-28 and Z Watson 2-23.

Roadwater lost only one wicket of P Cole as W Doughtrey (56 out) and J Cornish (18 not out) took charge.

In the only other game played in the division, Crowcombe moved up to fifth spot after beating fourth-placed Huish Champflower by 102 runs.

Crowcombe hit a useful 252-5 with J Newman being the star batter with 129 while L Willets scored 75. M Pownall took 4-31.

Huish Champflower fell well short of their target, being all out for 140. M Kidner made 42, H Pownall 24 and O Buckingham 32. R Baker snapped uip 4-31 and A Fawden 2-27.
