CARHAMPTON are still searching for that elusive first victory of the season in Division Two of the West Somerset Cricket League after they were beaten at home by Lydeard St Lawrence by seven wickets in their latest match.
After opting to bat first Carhampton were all out for 138 in 34.4 overs. The hosts lost early wickets before Adam Magill who made 26 was joined by Matthew Long who made 30 who started to move the scoreboard forward.
Later in the order Chris Clements hit 17 while Kyle Lewis remained unbeaten on 25 as Carhampton were all out for 138 in 38.4 overs.
Josh Alford with four for 17 off nine overs of which four were maidens while both Tom Westcott and Matt Reading claimed two wickets each.
When the visitors replied, after losing Clayton Vellacott bowled by Paul Keal for seven opener, Tom Meek and Mark Hannaford all but saw the visitors to victory, before both perishing, Meek for 58 and Hannaford for 41.
Shane Wyatt with an unbeaten seven and Ben Luxton who ended four not out then saw Lydeard St Lawrence to 139 for three in the 27th over.
